Fundraising & Development Intern at Jameson Camp

At Jameson Camp, I worked in the Fundraising and Development area and spent most of my time on site. I helped with different projects throughout the semester and often worked alongside another intern, depending on what needed to get done. I also collaborated with staff across camp when they needed support.

My work included organizing information for events, helping with outreach, preparing materials, and supporting communication efforts. I also had opportunities to attend events, meet families, and learn more about how the camp connects with the community.

This internship helped me build stronger communication and organization skills, and it gave me a better understanding of what it looks like to support a mission‑focused nonprofit.

Capstone Internship

Key Responsibilities:

During my internship at Jameson Camp, I worked on a variety of tasks that supported fundraising and development efforts. My responsibilities included organizing information for events, helping with outreach, preparing materials, and supporting communication projects. I also assisted staff when they needed extra help and worked with another intern on shared projects throughout the semester.

Projects and Experiences:

Throughout the semester, I worked on several projects that helped me understand how Jameson Camp connects with families and the community. I helped prepare materials for events and supported outreach efforts. I also had the chance to attend events and see how different parts of the organization worked together. These experiences gave me a clearer picture of how a nonprofit operates and how development work supports the camp’s mission.

Wedding Expo

I volunteered at the Wedding Expo hosted at Jameson Camp, where I helped staff the camp’s table and supported event activities throughout the day. I greeted attendees, answered questions about the camp, and helped with a giveaway alongside another intern. I also had the chance to walk around, meet vendors, and see how the event was organized across different spaces. This experience helped me build confidence in talking with new people and representing an organization in a public setting.

I helped develop a third‑party fundraiser for Jameson Camp by planning the event details, creating marketing materials, and researching places where we could promote it. I worked with another intern to organize ideas, draft outreach content, and think through how to reach families and community members. This project gave me experience with event planning, communication, and promoting a mission‑based organization.

Flyers and Materials

This section includes examples of the flyers and materials I created during my internship at Jameson Camp. These pieces were part of the projects I supported throughout the semester and reflect the communication and outreach work I contributed to. I appreciated having the opportunity to create these materials and support the camp’s efforts in a meaningful and professional way.
